Get Your Tickets Here!

Regi and I started lining out our itinerary for our visit to Rome during Holy Week and Easter. I was able to secure free tickets for the “Way of the Cross” in the Colosseum and Easter Sunday Mass in St. Peter’s Square. The other events were sold out at the U.S. office so I am trying to get those tickets through the Vatican. There are going to be so many people there but I think it will be an unforgettable experience.

Regi was able to get a hold of Fr. Francis (an old friend) through Facebook. Facebook has been amazing to find old friends, family and new friends. We just happened to have a few days free after Holy Week to visit him. It will be an enjoyable little trip south of Rome.

Here in Montemolino the rows of grapes are slowly getting cleared of weeds. It is a great opportunity for us to work on our tans before heading back to foggy Eureka. I must say Regi has now a nice off white color. :-)

Regi has been treating our hosts to different types of American treats. We first made chocolate chip cookies that the young son seemed to love, then the other night we made chocolate brownies that came out nice and gooey in the center (perfect). Today Regi made oatmeal cookies. However, it seems that Italy doesn’t have oats so we used a Muesli cereal that I think tastes even better than normal oats.

The first clouds since we arrived over a week ago have formed over us today. The grandmother said that she can feel the rain coming in her foot. We will see if her foot is correct.

Ciao

Dear Bernie and Regi:

Receiving your latest blog made me very happy; Papa is still in his downs and will read it later.
I thought in Italy is already the sun out to enjoy and warm up any frozen bones, - so how can it be that Regi still has an off-white color.... (i think, i get it.....)

You can't immagine how happy we are to know that you both will attend the Stations of the cross in the Colloseum with the Holy Father. What a GREAT BLESSING! I will see if we can be there, too, by via air, some where, at least. I gladly give up my internet and switch to EWTN, to see this event and -- maybe you two! We can not efford internet and EWTN; one would have to go. Suggestions? .....

I am also so very happy that you will meet Fr.Tiso! Please, give him our heartfelt regards and tell him, that - sometimes i could use an Exorcism of my "hangovers", that goes in various directions. You might add, that i have good humor and am up to all kinds of "mischiefs". You will have a marvelous time with Fr.Tiso and much laughts. Pictures, too, are a must!
I love you! we love you! and see if you can meet the Holy Father in person. Much reverance is requiered, kiss his hands, for us, too. He shall bless my Mantilla, if you have one, and - Bernard, tell him, that you always wanted to become a priest, untill a beautifull, irresistable young girl came along and ---- well, changed our holy plans. I have the letter you wrote to Bls.John Paul the Great!at the age of 9 years. And he wrote back to you.....

Enjoy the italian sunshine, and don't be disappointet to come back to a still rainy California.
The grass at your house is wet and high and so far unable to mow, but miracles still happen.....

Much of our Love and prayers go your way. We miss you!

Stay well and in Gods graces!
Always yours -
Mama and Papa (who is still sleeping....)
